Photo of the Week #8

Antiquated Los Angeles, originally uploaded by King Bulvi.

This is a photo I took from Whittier Hills looking out at the Los Angeles city skyline. I fiddled with the photo and tried to give it an antiquated look, seeing as I was hiking in hills that have been preserved to maintain its natural state.

Photo of the Week #7

I went to Joshua Tree and camped overnight this weekend. While I was there, I was given the amazing opportunity to photograph a Southern Desert Horned Lizard (I'm fairly sure that's what it is). The MOST amazing thing about this photo is that it looks like I'm way zoomed in to take this shot, but in reality, my camera doesn't zoom in very much, so this was actually taken about 4 inches away from the lizard! It was like God intervened and made the lizard just sit still so that I could get right in its face and photograph it to my heart's content. It was an incredible experience to see such a wicked awesome lizard so up close.

Photo of the Week #6

So I was hoping to get some photos of the Sunken City in San Pedro. Unfortunately, it was gated off and I couldn't get to it. On the other hand, on my way to the Sunken City, I came across the Korean Bell of Friendship, which according to Wikipedia is "the bell [that] was presented by the Republic of Korea to the American people to celebrate the bicentennial of the United States, to honor American veterans of the Korean War, and to symbolize friendship between the two nations. The effort was coordinated by Philip Ahn, a Korean-American actor. It was dedicated on October 3, 1976 and declared Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument No. 187 in 1978.
